Universal truths

- People will ultimately get the same revelations, come to the same conclusions. Even on their own.
I looked at the man who had just answered a question I had had on my mind, even though I never said anything about it.
- They are universal revelations and no one can claim them as their own, no one can be the author of them.
I knew what he meant by saying so.
- It just is what it is, and eventually people will see the same kind of reality.
He looked at me and nodded.
- Yes, that is exactly it! It is what it is. The paths might be different, but still we can arrive in the same place.

I was happy to get the answer to that question that had been lingering on my mind for a few days. The terror in thinking that all that had grown inside of me for a few years actually had just been adopting a mindset. But what he said made perfectly good sense. Those revelations, thoughts, conclusions where not for anyone to claim. Universal truths, for all to see and nobody to own.

Good post! It reminds me of an "Aha!" moment I had in the pool about an hour ago. I don't own the water, but I was able to slip into synch with it and move forward effortlessly, carried by forces stronger than I.

Universal truths, once revealed, need not be restated. By their very definition they apply to all.

I like that the feeling is one of "tapping into", rather than "creating" a truth.

Thanks for the post! You give me a lot to think about.

Thanks for reading and commenting, Woody!
I had a similar experience in Vietnam just a week ago; standing on a board while watching a huge wave grow bigger and bigger. First, all I wanted to do was to close my eyes, then I tried to forget I was standing on a board, instead thinking "I am a wave just like the one coming closer, we are the same." I felt the power in the water become me and I became the wave. Wonderful feeling!

I like your way of putting it, tapping into a truth. Teamwork, see? :)
